Juja constituency Member of Parliament Francis Munyua has expressed his concerns over the lack of State’s presence in his constituency.
Speaking over the weekend when he and Kiambu Governor William Kabogo hosted President Uhuru in PCEA Mukuyu church, the MP said that his office has been experiencing hardships in delivering services to the public as there is no office of the Deputy County Commissioner yet Juja is a sub-county on its own.
The legislator added that he has been forced to hire officers from Thika and Ruiru sub-counties to help in service delivery to the grassroots.
Munyua urged the President to ensure the State set all the offices and they should not be excluded in the incoming financial budget of the nation.
“Mr President Sir, I urge you to remember your Juja people who also need services as others in Thika and Ruiru sub-counties. We have no office of the DCC which should make it easier for us dispatch services to the public,” the MP said in courtesy.
Juja constituency was left without any administration office following the splitting of the larger Juja constituency into three among them Thika town and Ruiru constituencies.
The lawmaker further insisted that the area needs an OCPD as criminals in the area are charged either by Isaac Thuranira of Ruiru or Shadrack Maithya of Thika West.
“Mr. President Sir, we want to be dealing with our own crimes in the sub-county rather than overwhelming other OCPDs in Kiambu County,” Munyua requested.
The MP ordered the area OCS David Kombe to fight crimes in the area or else he will be replaced with immediate effect as crimes have become rampant in the area citing the latest Juja Bata shop robbery and illicit dens of alcohol.
Munyua urged the two neighbouring MPs, Alice Ng’ang’a of Thika Town and Esther Gathogo of Ruiru, to help him raise the standards of Juja as they left the area in a wanting state after the split.
