Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has said that a legislation be introduced that will require those venturing into alcohol brewing business to deposit Sh50 million with Nacada.

This money, Kuria says, will ensure that brewers become responsible as well as keeping off rogue brewers from the industry.

"Just like the banks deposit some money with the Central Bank to pay members if they collapse, it should be the same case with brewers", Kuria said.

He added, "The money will then be used to compensate anyone who suffer from their products instead of the government using taxpayers' money".

The outspoken legislator also had a bone to pick with Interior CS Ole Lenku.

"We want to tell Lenku that we will not allow more deaths of young people as a result of these brews. He has to crack down on the culprits otherwise we will have no country to lead," said Kuria.

He was speaking at the Kiambu District hospital on Wednesday after visiting the survivors of Nginduri's illicit brew incident.
