Laikipia North MP Mathew Lempurkel has been re-arrested few moments after he was arraigned in Court for allegedly assaulting area female Nominated MP Sarah Korere.

It is reported that the MP is likely to be taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters for grilling over undisclosed reasons.

When he appeared in Court Wednesday morning, the ODM lawmaker objected to take plea in the case, citing malice in the allegations leveled against him by the prosecution.

Milimani Principal Magistrate Joyce Kendani however dismissed his application, and asked him to present the argument during trial after taking plea.

Korere who allegedly assaulted the Jubilee Nominated MP on Monday at Harambee House Offices, was released on a Sh100,000 cash bail or a bond of Sh200,000, with assuarity of a similar amount.

The case will be mentioned on December 5, 2016.
