AFC Leopards have completed the signing of a new left-back, Moses Mburu who joins the club on a two-year deal according to club chairman Dan Mule.

Moses is the second left-back to join Leopards in this transfer window alongside Ghanaian Isaac Oduro and the duo will compete for the left-back slot against Marcus Abwao who has been on the sidelines for the last six months recovering from a serious knee injury. 

Mburu’s signing is noteworthy due to the manner of his discovery.

Originally he formed part of the 1,600 hopefuls who joined the Betway Talent Search, which was overseen by Mathare United coach Francis Kimanzi, and a contingent of the coaching staff from West Ham United in the United Kingdom.

After the conclusion of the Betway Talent Search, Moses joined Mathare United in January 2017 and after six months at the club, featured for bankers, KCB to the end of the 2017 National Super League (NSL).

Leopards chairman Mule has proclaimed his confidence in the signing of Moses, saying that the youngster will add to the competition in the side.

Meanwhile, Vihiga United has unveiled its Kenya Premier League (KPL) 2018 season team and technical bench maintaining Edward Manoah as the head coach.

In a ceremony presided over by Vihiga County deputy governor Patrick Saisi, United official Kahi Indimuli expressed his confidence in the boys who had performed fairly well in their build-up matches in Nakuru over the weekend.

He further stated that the Executive Committee (EC) saw it fit to maintain all the team’s technicians lead by head tactician Manoah for their sterling performance in the second tier league where the team emerged champions.
