The angry youths accused the ODM party of not exhibiting democracy and forcing on them some leaders whom they did not prefer.

Through their representative Pala Rateng’, they accused Raila of sidelining other parts of Homa-Bay County and only favoring the Suba region.

They said that Raila Odinga’s governance as the country’s Prime Minister has only plunged the Kasipul, Karachuonyo and other regions into more political darkness.

“When Raila was the country’s Prime Minister, he gave Homa-Bay County just but one ministry by appointing the late Senator Otieno K’Ajwang’ whom hailed from Suba. When the former Internal Security assistant minister Orwa Ojode died in the plane crash, his replacement was John Mbadi who also hails from Suba,” said Pala.

Speaking to the press in Homa-Bay today, Pala went ahead to explain why the other regions from the lakeside county feel neglected by the former premier.

“During Raila’s term in office, our equivalent to Francis Muthaura who was the Head of Civil Service was Caroli Omondi while his powerful personal assistant was Silas Jakakimba, both of both from Suba region. The only Nominated Member of Parliament was Millie Odhiambo who is from Suba region, so all these people come from one village but we have never complained or raised these issues of Kasipul, Rachuonyo or Suba for the purpose of unity in the county and party,” added Pala.

The youths asked Raila to allow the residents to nominate their own preferred choice rather than giving a candidate a direct nomination.

They also accused the party of defiling the democracy and the will of Homa-Bay people.
