Politicians in the country have been called upon to shelve the 2022 succession talk and focus on development.
Kabazi ward MCA Dr. Peter Mbae said that the 2022 talk is uncalled for and unnecessary at this particular moment.
He called on leaders to heed to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s call of desisting from politics and channel their energies on serving Kenyans.
Addressing the media in Nakuru, Mbae said the country has just came from an economically draining election and that continued politics will hurt the country more.
The MCA said that the common Kenyan is interested in service delivery and not politics.
He warned that some political talks about the 2022 succession are likely to cause unnecessary animosity among communities living within the Rift Valley.
Mbae reminded Jubilee politicians that President Uhuru Kenyatta himself promised to personally campaign for DP Ruto in 2022 saying that there was no reason to worry about the 2002 politics.
He hit out at Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko remarks he made over the weekend when he suggested that some people from Central Kenya are working to scuttle DP Ruto’s journey to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
