Othaya MP Mary Wambui says opposition leader Raila Odinga has realised he can't defeat President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August general election.
Wambui said the former Prime Minister is laying grounds to reject polls results by claiming that the government is plotting to rig the coming elections.
Speaking during a rally to mobilise her constituents to list as voters in Othaya town, the MP termed Raila's claims that foreigners are being registered to vote for Jubilee 'unsound'.
"His allegations that NIS is helping the government to rig the upcoming elections are regrettable and deranged. He has already sensed that we will defeat him," she said.
The legislator defended the government, saying ever since Jubilee came to power, there have been no reported cases of violence erupting from any part of the country.
“It is time he leaves President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to lead the country peacefully without issuing threats,” said Wambui.
On the ongoing mass voter registration, Wambui asked chiefs and administrative officers to hasten the process of issuing identification cards to enable residents list as voters.
