Speaking to this writer on Wednesday, the youthful county lawmaker accused his competitors of spreading propaganda on his administration, besides inciting electorates against his projects.

He reiterated his commitment to improve infrastructure in the region, besides launching several projects, some which have been opposed by the competitors.

“What these people know and don’t want to tell wananchi is that my work is to legislate, represent and oversight the county leadership. Therefore, it is improper to accuse me of awarding tenders yet I am not the one doing the job,” he said.

“They should be ready to face me in 2017 because I am prepared and I want to assure them of humiliation because they are impediment to development and people know about it,” he added.

He defended county Governor John Nyagarama from constant scathing attacks about his leadership by elected leaders in the region; notably Senator Kennedy Okong’o, and asked them to support the governor to realize development.

“What I am facing in the county level is similar with what the governor is facing. I call upon elected leaders to come together and support the governor in delivering. Leadership must be all about people and if we miss to understand that, then we lose the point,” he said.

Atuti’s competitors have been mounting pressure on him to resign by linking him with several scams ranging from irregular awarding of four tenders in construction of health centers, to the construction of ECDE classes in Nyaronge and Riakworo primary school.
