Nyamira County Women Representative Alice Nyanchoka Chae has called on the elected leaders to come together and bring development to the people at the grassroots.
Speaking in Nyamira town, Chae said that she will ensure that she has delivered what she promised the county residents after parliament put clear their job description as County Women Representatives in the National Assembly.
Chae called on the area residents to have respect for one another as one people and also reminded leaders that leadership comes from God and therefore urged them to always put God first in everything they do.
“I am glad that the Lord has enabled us to peacefully get to the year 2015 and I want to urge people of Gusii community to show love and respect to one another. To the leaders, this leadership is given to us by God to work on His behalf and therefore, we should have the interests of the people we represent first before anything else,” said Chae.
She also called on the people to ensure that leaders they elect brought them development and not to be bought during election periods at the expense of development.
Chae told the residents to stand for the truth at all times and ensure that their leaders are always accountable for what they do with public funds.
She wished all Kenyans the best as they start the New Year and prayed for peace.
