Deputy President William Ruto has been urged to concentrate on development related issues when he visits Kisii County on Friday.
Mr Ruto is expected to visit the county according to area Deputy Governor Joash Maangi’s Facebook post, Maangi is also a close ally of the countries second in command.
Kisii County Youth League chairman Erick Janganya on Thursday warned the DP against engaging in politics insisting that the region was less concerned with Jubilee government’s politics in the region.
“The DP is always welcome to visit Kisii but he must remember that we are not interested in politicking. As a community, we need development and that’s all. We have been sidelined despite the top leadership visiting the county several times,” he said.
“The DP alone has come here on several occasions and he usually engages in politics. It’s important that this time round he focuses on development issues. We have many problems which should be fixed rather than Jubilee subjecting us to campaign moods yet they are in government,” he said.
Mr Janganya also added that the Jubilee government should focus on improving both coffee and tea sectors which according to him are ailing.
