Mututho who spoke to this writer on Tuesday in Nakuru decried that most of the people using drugs are youths and there is need to contain the situation before it is too late.

The chairman decried that lack of jobs among the youths results in idleness that later drives them into drugs.

“The situation of drug use and addiction in the country is worrying and needs concerted effort between governments, individuals, private sector among others in fighting the vice,” Mututho added.

He called upon the central and county governments to put policies in place that will facilitate and help youths to start income generating projects in order to bridge the gap of unemployment.

“The government can get the challenge from Israel, a country which is arid and has been able to sustain and export food. We need to embrace technology and entrepreneur skills,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mututho has reiterated the need to have a special police unit to work with his authority in the fight against killer brews and also help in enforcing the regulations and laws in the industry.

“I have been calling for the formation of a special unit as per the ‘Mututho’ law states in order to facilitate implementation of the alcoholic laws; this will be the best way to end the drugs menace,” the Nacada boss added.
