President Uhuru Kenyatta has reached out on striking health workers to bring to an end their strike and let their grievances be addressed.
Speaking on Wednesday in Makindu, Makueni county, the president said that the deaths of close to 20 people due to neglect was not a small thing and that a quick solution had to be found.
He regretted the deaths and asked the doctors to be 'humane' and consider the lives of dying Kenyans.
“Let us be humane and mindful of the lives of the patients. I am confident we will find a solution,” he said.
He said this after commissioning the Kenya Medical Training Centre (KMTC) Makindu campus and the launching of medical equipment at the Makindu sub-county hospital.
He noted that doctors needed to go back to work because Health ministry officials have been working closely with governors for weeks in order to resolve the matter.
