Kinyanjui who is eyeing the Nakuru gubernatorial seat said he has never been involved in any malicious campaigns during his 20 years in politics.

“I have never been involved in the use of criminal gangs or any foul language. I have also never used ethnicity to seek votes and residents can prove that,” he added.

He spoke during an exclusive interview at a Nakuru hotel where he challenged his opponents to conduct issue-based campaigns.

“Our main aim is for “Wanjiku “ to benefit. Our vision should not be to divide the residents especially on ethnic lines but to ensure that we serve all their needs,” he added.

The NTSA chair dismissed claims that he did not perform well when he was the Nakuru Town MP,  saying he spearheaded the construction of more than 50 kilometers of tarmack roads in the area.

“Among the major roads which were tarmacked under my tenure were the Lanet–Ndudori road, Nakuru – Kiratina Road, Dog Section Roads, Evans, Freehold and Shabab which are main roads when it comes to connecting to the CBD,” he added.

He said the creation of stalls to house the hawkers in the area was his initial project.

“We wanted to ensure that all of them worked in a clean and safe environment which was free from any harassment,” he added.
