Governor William Kabogo has urged politicians to exercise maturity as they drum up support ahead of the 2017 general elections.

Speaking on Radio Maisha’s Bunge La Maisha on Wednesday morning , Kabogo cautioned politicians against acts that could trigger violence.

He noted that some politicians use their campaigns to hurl insults and instigate for violence.

The Kiambu governor said the country needs peace for successful 2017 general elections.

“Politicians must stop acts of intolerance and immaturity that could lead to violence among their supporters,” he said.

The Kiambu governor further asked politicians to be on the frontline in championing for unity.

He said that it important for politicians to preach peace before, during and after the 2017 polls.

Kabogo at the same time urged Kenyans to remain peaceful ahead of the elections.

“Kenyans should not allow politicians with evil intentions to corrupt their minds,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Kiambu governor has dismissed Cord allegations that Jubilee government plots to rig the 2017 elections.

Kabogo termed the claims as ‘childish’ saying that it is a ploy by the opposition to divert government attention ahead of the 2017 general elections.
