The impact of overdepending on politics has been too huge in our lives.
It has not only stalled progress, it has made our entire lives unbearable.
The rate of unemployment has gone up to 53 per cent in our slum areas and this means crime rates will also escalate as youths seek alternative means of survival.
Most people have been laid off at their respective job areas in election-related layoffs.
In a study titled 'The Job Market Report' conducted by the research firm 'Trends and Insights For Africa', the overall rate of unemployment in Kenya has escalated to more than 39 per cent which was earlier reported by the United Nations Human Development Index report in May.
Apart from these layoffs, the business environment has also been dragged into murk.
Operating businesses in the slums will be marred with disruption and political violence that always come with heavy loses.
