Politicians have been challenged to shun politicking in churches and instead preach peace and God's word.
Speaking on Sunday in Borabu during a church fundraiser, Nyamira County woman representative Alice Chae said it is not good for politicians to turn churches into political avenues.
“We need to respect our creator and we attend church services as politicians to receive the word of God, not politics. We need to preach peace among ourselves and the word of God instead of doing politics in churches,” said Chae.
She also urged churches to be in the forefront in fighting female genital mutilation since the vice is not embracive currently in the country.
“We need our churches to intervene and give the support in fighting female genital mutilation as we move forward,” added Chae.
