Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker David Kiplagat has called for the naming of key roads, estates and streets in Eldoret town after heroes in the county.

This, the speaker said, will be the best way to celebrate individuals who fought against colonialism.

Speaking at the 64 stadium in Eldoret town, Lagat said by naming the roads and streets after the county's heroes, future generations will always live to celebrate them.

"As we celebrate Mashukaa day, I call that the leadership of this county puts their heads together and identify key streets and roads that will be named after some of our great heroes," said Mr. Lagat.

"This will ensure our future children live to remember those heroes and understand the sacrifices they went through for the freedom they will be enjoying," he added.

The speaker named the late Koitalel Arap Samoei, Chelagat and Jean Marie Seronei as some of the heroes the county should name the streets after.
