The tongue, as small as it is, can bring the destruction of a state.

In fact, the famous saying goes, 'There is nothing as dangerous as a lying tongue.'

During the bloody aftermath of 2007/2008 general elections, our politicians were accussed of spreading propaganda, hate speeches and inciting youths to violence.

From the lessons of post-elections violence, Machakos residents and Kenyans as a whole, especially politicians, should now know the power of the tongue.

It is therefore shameful when a learned politician can stand in front of Kenyans and say, without an iota of guilt..that 'they' shall win the coming general elections of 2017 whether by crook or hook, or by stealing!

Such kinds of careless utterances can easily make the country go up in flames.

This loose tongue 'disease' is not only prevalent in politicians, even ordinary Kenyans, especially those in social media.

Kenyans are hurling stinking tribal insults against each other on Facebook and Twitter. This is an appeal to patriotic Kenyans, as elections draw near, the more you should tame that loose tongue.
