Speaking to the press after holding a meeting with the county liaison committee on Monday, Mutua said that his government will not be distracted by a few individuals who have no interests for the people.

Mutua said that he will only work with leaders who are ready to address the challenges facing the people.

“I want to reiterate that my government is committed to work for the people and will not be distracted by few individuals,” said the county boss.

Mutua asked county leaders especially the sub county administrators saying that they have a responsibility to work for the people.

Mutua added that leaders who were elected and those nominated must work tirelessly for the people.

The Governor indicated that the county will channel more resources towards projects that will directly benefit the people

Mutua at the same time lashed out at County Senator Johnstone Muthama accusing him of trying to intimidate him.

Over the weekend, Muthama asked Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) to draft an impeachment motion against Mutua.

Muthama accused Mutua of failing to protect the welfare and the interests of workers. The senator also alleged that the governor has been employing people from other counties and neglecting residents.

Mutua while reacting to the allegations said that he will remain steadfast and fight for the rights of Machakos people.

He said that his agenda is to ensure that Machakos people have access to service dismissing Muthama’s claims as cheap and petty politics.
