Bosire who also doubles as the ODM treasurer defied the President’s order of observing a minute of silence in parliament by standing in honour of soldiers who had died in Somalia earlier this year during his State of Nation address.

But on Wednesday, the two leaders met head-on and the President was quick to urge Bosire to work with his team.

“I have seen my friend Bosire and I respect his political stand but it’s important that we work together as a team. We should avoid playing hard politics because they are not helpful sometimes,” Uhuru said amidst cheers from the crowd.

“Sometimes we do have political differences but they should not make us to have hatred. I love your vigor and loyalty to your party but it’s good that we bury differences and work together. I also challenge you to tell Mzee (Raila Odinga) too,” he added.

However, Bosire who was amidst the gathering skipped addressing the crowd despite calls from the audience and later on told the reporter that he had nothing against the President and challenged him to develop all parts of the nation equally.

“Honestly I don’t have any difference with the president but he must understand that he was elected to serve people regardless of their political affiliation. I don’t have to support his coalition so that he works for my people because it’s his mandate,” he said.

Uhuru who was later to visit Bosire’s backyard to commission a water project cancelled the trip following intelligence reports that local politics would have taken center stage with some aspirants reportedly buying whistles meant for countering leaders who they didn’t support.
