A letter purporting to have emanated from Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko nominating lawyer Miguna Miguna as Nairobi Deputy Governor is fake, a lawyer closer to the Nairobi county boss has said.
In the letter, which has gone viral on social media, Sonko forwards Miguna's name to the Speaker of the county assembly Beatrice Elachi for vetting and approval.
However, a lawyer closer to Sonko told Standard Digital that the letter is fake.
Another county official also said his boss' signature had been forged.
Governor Sonko has not said anything on his social media accounts concerning the 'nomination'.
Sonko, who is known to update his followers on major developments through his facebook account made his last post six hours ago wishing all Muslims a happy Ramadhan Kareem.
There is no mention of nominating Miguna Miguna to be his deputy.
