The nearest the men and women would be is in Kibunja forest  on their way to Molo town.

The town is still reeling from shock of gunshots that rent the air when crime busters cornered suspected highway robberies at the centre.

“It was something we have never seen before. It was like a movie,” a trader who witnessed the encounter told this writer.

John Kimani, a bodaboda rider at the area, said it was a day like any other. Then from the blues, he saw two young men swing into action and gunshots rent the air.

“The seven guys were felled by two young police officers clad casually. They did somersaults as they sprayed bullets to the thugs,” Kimani said.

The ‘young’ officers were armed with Automatic Rifles (AR), another resident said.

For close to ten minutes, the area was a battle field. When the dust settled, seven suspected gang members were lying lifeless.

The seven were travelling in two private cars, a Prado and a Toyota Filder, and police said had trailed them from Kayole Nairobi.

They were allegedly planning to rob a truck ferrying sugar from Nairobi to Eldoret.Molo OCPD said killing of the three was a major breakthrough in fight against highway robberies.
