Godfrey Okeri Masanya was born in 03/06/1942 at Nyaramba, Kiabonyoru location in Nyamira County.
He went to Rangenyo Primary school in the year 1951, and completed his CPE in 1959 be he later joined p3 certificate at Kabianga Teachers Training College in the year 1961, and graduated in the year 1962.
He was appointed Regional Manager of Kenya National Trading Corporation between 1981 and 1985, and in 1989 and 1992, he was National Distribution Manager of Kenya National Trading Corporation.
He turned to be an active Tea Farmer/Businessman doing private business between 1993 and 1999, and in the year 2000, he was elected as the director Sanganyi tea factory where he performed exemplary well and was elected as the area Member of Parliament for North Muguirango Borabu using Ford People.
He lost the seat in 2007 to Moriasi Ombui in 2007.
During his tenure as MP, he spoke 29 times in the National Assembly
He died at Kericho Level Five hospital the night of April 10, 2016.
