A 32 year-old man, who defiled a dumb and mentally challenged girl, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by Ndhiwa Court.
Paul Odhiambo appeared before Principal Magistrate Benard Omwansa who found him guilty of defiling the 9 year-old minor.
The prosecution led by Grace Emisiko told the Court that on October 8, 2014 at Kasirime Kawanga sub location in Ndhwa Sub County, Odhiambo raped the minor.
The convict was found defiling the minor by a passerby, who raised the alarm, at mid morning in a bush near a road.
He was arrested and taken to Ndhiwa Police station before being arraigned in court, where he initially denied the charges, and the case went for full hearing.
Principal Magistrate said the evidence adduced had proven that Odhiambo committed the heinous act.
The accused asked the court to forgive him because he had the responsibility of taking care of other people at home.
