Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has broken his silence on the lifestyle audit ordered by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking to a local radio station, the outspoken Jubilee legislator who happens to hail from Deputy President William Ruto's backyard expressed his fears that some individuals were targeted in the order the President gave on Thursday last week.
"I fear some individuals are being targeted by this lifestyle audit ordered by the President and this may be a link to 2022 politics," said Sudi.
He however insisted that he does not fear any audit as long as it starts from the time Kenya got independence.
"Am also ready for an audit but if it must be a serious audit, it should start from the time we got independence that is 1963," he said.
The MP's sentiments were echoed by some of the radio listeners who claimed the lifestyle audit was meant to target some individuals ahead of 2022 politics.
"If the President is serious, he should order the audit be done since 1963," said one of the listeners who identified himself as Kimetto.
"The audit seems to be targeting some politicians who are hardworking, who have come from grass to grace, the President should come out clearly and order audit for all politicians who made millions and tracks of land since we got independence," said Zakaria another listener.
"I support lifestyle audit but should not be linked to 2022 politics, it's too early for 2022," noted Mary.
"The President should take care of the money that has not been looted because am sure the audit will not succeed, this is Kenya and it will remain Kenya," said Bore.
The President during an event in Mombasa last week ordered a lifestyle audit for all public servants starting from himself and his deputy.
