Police officers in Likoni are probing an incident in which a primary school headteacher is accused of making sexual advances towards a class eight pupil.
Mwalimu Abdurhaman, who has been a teacher at the Likoni Primary School for four years, is accused of fondling the student in an appropriate manner on February 16, in his office.
The teacher allegedly used tricks to lure the students in his office after a mathematics lesson, before committing the said offense.
Likoni OCPD Willy Simba said the case will be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
“We have summoned both parties to record their statements a fresh. The matter will be forwarded to the DPP because the case only came to be known last week,” said Simba, as quoted by Baraka FM.
The accused, however, denied the allegations terming them as malice propagated by individuals who want to end his career .
“I have recorded a statement with the police. They just wanted to tarnish my name. The girl was even absent during that lesson,” he said.
The teacher also claimed that the father of the complainant has been sending him messages, asking for cash.
