Mombasa county commissioner Evans Achoki has issued security personnel in Likoni with a three-month ultimatum to wipe out all criminal gangs from the area. 

Speaking at spoke at Celtel area in Likoni on Wednesday, Achoki said officials who will not meet the deadlines risk losing their jobs, adding that he will not tolerate laxity anymore.

 Likoni Sub County has been hitting headlines because of incessant criminal’s activities with gangs such as Wakalikwaznza and Watalia terrorizing residents. The county commissioner also asked the chiefs and their assistants to pull up their socks in the fight against criminal gangs in the sub county to protect their jobs.  This comes at a time when several criminal incidences have been reported in the area including the mysterious murder of a clinical officer. 

Achoki also revealed that plans are underway to deploy police who will be cladded in civilian to assist in dealing with the criminal’s gangs. He further called upon members of different criminals gangs in the area to surrender to the police of face dire consequences.

 “If they [criminal gangs] will not surrender in the next three months, we will deal with them in the language they understand without specifying the language,” he said, as quoted by Baraka FM. 

Achoki asked the parents to be vigilant and report any suspicious behavior in their kids or else they will be held accountable of their criminal deeds.
