A limping and depleted Bandari FC side will on Saturday take on fellow strugglers Mathare United in a match they have to win to bring their Kenya Premier League title challenge back on track.
After exiting the GOTV Shield Cup following a reckless display against Sony Sugar, Bandari's troubles were compounded after another shock loss to Kakamega Homeboyz. And even as they aim to bounce back in a match against the Slum Boys, Bandari's top players in Wilson Obungu and Mohammed Siraj will not be available for selection.Obungu, an integral member of the Paul Nkata-coached side, was given a straight red card in their 1-0 defeat by Homeboyz while Siraj has accumulated a total of five yellow cards.GOTV Shield was the only realistic trophy that the Dockers could win. However, their exit shifts their focus to the KPL where they are fifth on the log with 29 points, 8 points behind league leaders Gor Mahia who have played one match less.
