The family of the woman who died in an accident allegedly caused by Neno evangelist preacher James Maina Ng’ang’a on August 26, 2015, has vowed to appeal his acquittal.
Mercy Njeri’s husband Mr Martin Mbugua termed pastor Ng’ang’a's acquittal as an injustice.
He claimed that every evidence produced in court by the prosecution during trial pointed to pastor Ng’ang’a as the driver who caused her wife death through reckless driving.
Speaking journalists at the Limuru Law courts on Monday, Mr Mbugua appealed to Kenyan’s of good will and who believes in justice to help him lodge an appeal.
He accused the judiciary and court officials handling the case of allegedly being compromised.
“These people (court officials) must be investigated and should not be left to go scot free for failing to deliver justice where it was due,” he said on Monday.
Mr Mwangi said that the family has never moved from after his wife’s death.
The family lawyer, Mr Kariuki Wanjiri said that they will study the court ruling that acquitted Pastor Ng’ang’a before proceeding to the High court to appeal.
On Friday, Limuru Senior Principal Magistrate Godfrey Oduor acquitted pastor Nga’ng’a and, his driver Simon Kuria and police officers Christopher Nzioka and Patrick Baya.
The three had been charged with reckless driving on August 26, 2015, causing the death of Njeri, after his vehicle allegedly collided with her car at Manguo area in Limuru constituency.
