Limuru MP Peter Mwathi has said leaders should focus on developing the country.

Speaking in Limuru town on Monday, the lawmaker urged Jubilee and opposition leaders to work together because elections are over.

"As leaders, we should focus on creating jobs for our youths, empower women and disabled to improve livelihoods after divisive politics that divided our country," he said.

Mwathi said prolonged politics scared investors from investing in the country.

"Lack of peace made traders and investors change their business plans for fear of losing property. It is time opposition and Jubilee politicians to help in developing the country,"  the legislator said.

He added that if there will be peace, more investors and traders will do their businesses without fear.

"More investors in the country will help our people get jobs and boost lives in society," he noted.

He said Kenyans and clerics should pray for peace in the country.
