Igembe South MP Mithika Linturi has now jumped into the defense of opposition leader Raila Odinga regarding his statement that withdrawal of troops fro South Sudan was a rush.
The legislator who spoke during NTV's AMLive show on Tuesday said the issues raised by Raila should not be taken lightly since the impact could be great on Kenya's relationship with the international community.
"Whatever issues that are being raised about this withdrawal should not be taken lightly because they may have a serious impact on how we relate with the international community," Linturi said.
Linturi also urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to come clear on the matter and tell Kenyans the details about the peacekeeping mission that the KDF were involved in to avoid disquiet among citizens.
"The President has a duty to explain to Kenyans under what terms our army went to South Sudan so that in the event there is a breach of the terms that were laid down then we are able to know where the blame lies," Linturi said.
"Whatever is happening on the ground is because no sufficient information has been given to Kenyans and the public are only acting on speculation," he added.
