Former AFC Leopards coach Robert "The Lion" Matano is set to return to Kenya Premier League giants AFC Leopards to succeed Englishman Stewart Hall.
According to media reports, Matano who won the 2009 and 2012 KPL titles with Sofapaka and Tusker respectively is set to be unveiled on Friday.
“Timbe was part of our target but his terms are unrealistic. Hewants to come with three of his assistants. That means we will have to spend more than a million shillings on their salaries. We are still discussing with a number of top coaches including Matano. The final decision will be made on Friday,” said AFC Leopards CEO Ronald Namai as quoted by the The Standard Sports.
Meanwhile, the Den has parted ways with goalkeeper trainer Alex Mwangi and Team Manager Tony Lidonde.
“We have officially parted ways with Lidonde and Mwangi. They had some issues with NEC, that’s why they have been dismissed. We have not yet appointed their replacements,” said Namai.
