Political parties in the two top coalitions, Jubilee Party, and the National Super Alliance (Nasa), have presented a list of persons to be nominated to the 12th Parliament, to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Nasa comprises of the ODM party (Raila Odinga), WDM-K (Kalonzo Musyoka), ANC (Musalia Mudavadi), Ford Kenya (Moses Wetangula), and the CCM (Isaac Ruto), while Jubilee is headed by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

However, it has been revealed that losers in the April party primaries, cronies, and loyalists, dominate the list presented to the Wafula Chebukati-led Commission.

Article 97 (c) of the Constitution requires political parties to nominate 12 members according to their proportion of members of the National Assembly, to represent special interests including persons with disabilities, youth, and workers.

Also, article 98 of the Constitution requires political parties to nominate 16 women according to the proportion of members of the Senate elected, and two other nominees being one man and one woman, representing the youth, one man and one woman representing persons with disabilities

Below is a list of names of persons presented to the body, to be nominated as MPs and Senators.

1. Jubilee Party

Millicent Omanga (lost in primaries for Nairobi Woman Rep race) - Senate; women category.

Isaac Mwaura (lost in Ruiru MP race during primaries) - Senate; persons with disability category.

Victor Prengei - Senate; Youth category.

Beth Mugo, Senate TNA or Jubilee Nominated lawmaker (Uhuru's first cousin) - Senate.

Others include; Joyce Amasong (representing persons with disability), Peris Wambui (representing the youth), Judith Kerubo, Hadija Abakiri, Alice Chepkorir, Winifred Guchu, Judith Kerubo, Hadija Abakiri, Caroline Daudi, Veronica Maina (Jubilee vice chairperson), Francisca Kamuren, Beatrice Gambo, Janet Muli, Mary Seneta, Falhada Iman, Caroline Chilango, Naomi Waqo and Mary Adhiambo.

For the MP nomination list, Jubilee has nominated the following.

Aden Noor, Sandra Ochallo, lawyer Jennifer Shamalla, Maina Kamanda (outgoing Starehe MP), Runyenjes MP Cecily Mbarire (lost in Embu gubernatorial primaries race), Rev Jackson Kosgey, Faith Waigwa (Jubilee party elections official), and Samwel Mburu and Agnes Kariuki. 

2. ODM Party

Nominated Senator and ODM Secretary General Dr Agnes Zani - Senate.

Judy Pareno (EALA MP and National Elections Board chairperson) - Senate.

Beatrice Kwamboka Makori, (lost in Nairobi Woman Rep race) - Senate.

Gertrude Musuruve and Harold Kipchumba - Senate (persons living with disabilities category).

Mercy Chebeni and Abdullahi Samatar - Senate (representing the youth)

Beth Syengo (ODM Women Congress chairperson) - Senate.

Rose Nyamunga (outgoing Kisumu Woman Rep) - Senate.

Eunice Marima, Rosemary Kariuki (former minister JM Kariuki’s daughter), and Masitsa Ndombi.

Others include Dorcas Muga-Odumbe, Jane Naini, Fatuma Jehow, Beatrice Mochama, Nora Owino, Rachel Amollo Wilson Sossion who is the Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) Secretary General and Patricia Akunda.

3. ANC party picked its secretary general Godfrey Osotsi for the National Assembly
