At least seven Governors of 28 filed petitions have now been cleared by the courts.
Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko is the latest to be cleared after the petitioner 'lost interest' in the case prompting him to withdraw.
Other Governors who have been cleared include Kisumu Governor Anyang' Ny'ongo, Ann Waiguru of Kirinyaga, Salim Mvurya of Kwale, Kiraitu Murungi, Wilbur Ottichillo and Samuel Tunai of Narok.
However a large chunk of governors still face an uncertain future as they await Court decision on their term in office.Here is the list of the governors with pending Petitions;

10. Fahim Twaha - Lamu
11.Sospeter Ojaamong - Busia
12. Martin Wambora - Embu
13. Ali Korane -Garissa
14. Cyprian Awiti - Homa Bay
15. James Ongwae - Kisii
16. Ali Roba - Mandera
17. Ali Mohamed Mohammed -Marsabit
18. Zacharia Okoth Obado - Migori
