It is a new dawn to former politicians, who had been sent out in the cold, after losing in the past elections.

A good number of them have made a political comeback, after clinching various party tickets to vie for political positions, in the August 8, elections.

The ex-lively politicians who are making a comeback include:

1. Amos Kimunya:  the former Minister of Trade also, served as the Minister of Finance from 2006 to July 2008, when he resigned due to the Grand Regency Hotel scandal. Previously, he was the Minister of Lands and Settlement. 

He served as Kipipiri MP for 10 years before Samuel Gichigi ousted him in the March 4, 2013 general polls.

Kimunya cliched a Jubilee Party ticket from the incumbent MP, as he seeks to oust him, in the August polls. He garnered 16,479 votes against Gichigi's 5,999 votes.

2. Joshua Kuttuny: After losing the Cherangany parliamentary race in 2013, to athlete Wesley Korir who vied as an Independent candidate, Kuttuny was appointed the Political Advisor to the president.

He clinched the Jubilee Party ticket in the just concluded primaries, as he seeks to oust Korir. He garnered 15,385 votes, against Korir's 8,378 votes.

3. Lee Kinyanjui: After serving as the Nakuru Town Constituency MP in 2007-2013, Kinyanjui was appointed as the chairman of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA). 

He beat incumbent Nakuru governor Kinuthia Mbugua, to clinch the post's Jubilee ticket. Kinyanjui garnered 21,6385 votes against the incumbent's 15,0137.

Others include: Jayne Kihara (Naivasha), Prof Margaret Kamar (Eldoret East, wants to be Uasin Gishu senator), Maoka Maore (Igembe North), Fred Kapondi (Mt Elgon), Dhadho Godhana (Galole), Njeru Ndwiga (Embu), former Cooperatives Minister Njeru Ndwiga (for senator Embu), among others.
