Forty-one (41) teachers were on Tuesday evening struck of the register of teachers at the Teachers Service.

Interestingly most (40) of them were male with only one female. TSC has cited that most of the teachers were struck from the register over suspected sexual relationships with students.

A teacher who is struck from the register ceases to be in office from the date he removed and if caught teaching, he is liable to a fine not exceeding sh100000 or 2-years imprisonment or both.

Other reasons included desertation of duty, insubordination and negligence, examination cheating and financial embezzlement.
