Despite a section of international community giving him a wide berth, Raila Odinga's effort to have critical changes in the electoral system has a wide backing from African economic giants.
Early this week, a section of western diplomats and AU observers gave the Thursday's poll a clean bill of health regardless of Odinga's persistent calls for reforms in electoral body.
"We are not alone and whatever a section of international community is doing, I want to remind them that we have been here before," said a fired up Odinga on Wednesday.
Coincidentally, lawyer James Orengo had accused international community of betrayal and insisted that NASA was ready to fight alone to instill electoral reforms in Kenya.
At Uhuru Park on Wednesday, Odinga pointed out that his quest for electoral reforms had a huge backing from African economic giants.
"Leave alone those who support impunity. We have Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Liberia, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Ghana behind us. We shall soldier on."
Although IEBC failed to postpone Thursday's elections, voting has reportedly not kicked off in different parts of the country following Odinga's boycott.
Prior to repeat poll, Odinga called for sacking of a section of IEBC officials who he accuses of bungling August polls that were nullified by Supreme Court.
