The National Super Alliance (Nasa) principal Raila Odinga has contested President Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory in the recently concluded August 8 polls.

The hotly contested race saw IEBC’s chairman Wafula Chebukati declare Uhuru the president elect with over 54 per cent of the total votes cast while Raila got 44.7 per cent.

The Nasa leader has however refused to concede defeat alleging the election exercise was not free and fair.

He has further moved to the Supreme court to file a petition challenging Uhuru’s victory despite earlier sentiments from the Nasa principals that the court was not an option for them.

In the 25,000 page petition filed on Friday night, the Opposition claims Uhuru got extra votes from Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nakuru, Machakos, Kisii Meru, Wajir, Kitui, Kwale and Mombasa counties.

Nasa has further pointed out 63 constituencies where it alleges electoral malpractices were cited at the polling stations.
