With only a week to elections, the ODM campaign team could be celebrating major milestones made in critical counties if at all opinion polls released by Infotrack and Ipsos Synovate is anything to go by.
In 2013, Odinga’s sluggish campaigns led to imminent defeat with President Uhuru Kenyatta scoring fairly well in many counties.
But a spirited campaign has seen Odinga’s popularity rising exponentially in areas where he scored badly during the last polls.
“I must say that we have done some good job and I am hopeful that we shall garner the moment in these remaining days,” says NASA Secretariat member Norman Magaya.
“We have improved in critical regions which will hand us a first round victory. We are not expecting anything short of that.”
Among the regions where NASA’s support is on an upward trajectory are Narok, Kajiado, Marsabit, Isiolo, Baringo, Bomet, West Pokot, Garissa and Samburu.
Hefty campaigns have been done by both rival parties and in the final week, a host of activities have been planned in the aforementioned counties.
