The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has released a list of presidential candidates who will be on the ballot on August 8.
Local media reports that at least ten of the earlier count of presidential hopefuls have been dropped from the current list after failing to meet minimum requirements for the top job.
Nazlin Umar, Peter Solomon Gichira, Michael Orenge, Pete Osotsi Odeng, Muthiora Kariara, Japhet Kavinga, Stephen Owoko Oganga, David Munga and Erastus Nyamera are the vvictims of latest IEBC move as deadline for submission of election papers nears.
Seven candidates will now face the incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta of Jubilee Party in a bid to get him out of office.
The seven include Raila Odinga (NASA), Mohammed Abduba Dida (Alliance for Real Change), Ekuru Aukot (Thirdway Kenya), Justus Juma (Justice and Freedom Party), Cyrus Jirongo (United Democratic Party) and two independent candidates, Joseph Nyagah and Michael Wainaina Mwaura.
