President Uhuru Kenyatta may be succeeded by an outgoing governor despite Deputy President William Ruto’s interest in the seat.

Political dynamics may change in 2022 due to expected retire of long term opposition leader Raila Odinga and another expected retirement of Uhuru Kenyatta.

And the move could give a sitting governor an opportunity to run for President and even win due to expected changes in Kenyan politics.

Among those tipped to join succession politics include outgoing Kiambu Governor William Kabogo is believed to be an Uhuru’s expected successor in Central Kenya.

Alfred Mutua of Machakos could also give a major competition in 2022 and has since declared his interest on Maendeleo Chap Chap initiative.

Those who are also expected to feature include Hassan Joho of Mombasa, Wycliffe Oparanya of Kakamega and outgoing Bomet County boss Isaac Rutto.

With both Kenyatta and Odinga’s name absent from ballot, it would give Kenyans another challenge to choose an outsider as the country’s CEO.
