A new poll has indicated that several sitting governors might be sent home by the electorates in August.
The survey which was conducted by Radio Africa Group Research Department, shows new comers are taking lead in various counties.
In Bomet county, if elections were to be held today, governor Isaac Rutto, a Nasa principal, would be defeated by Sotik MP and Jubilee Party nominee Joyce Laboso. According to the poll, Laboso would get 56 per cent of votes, while Rutto, 44 per cent.
Homa Bay governor Cyprian Awiti would be thrown out by his main challenger Oyugi Magwanga's who would score64 per cent. Against Awiti’s 35 per cent.
In Busia county, the incumbent governor Sospeter Ojaamong’ will have a difficult time to defend his seat as the Independent candidate Paul Otuoma, is leading in the polls by 61 per cent while Ojaamong’ has 23 per cent.
Other governors who might be ousted according to the survey are William Kabogo (Kiambu), Dr Evans Kidero (Nairobi), and Joseph Ndathi (Kirinyaga).
The survey was conducted from May 3-14 in 28 counties, sampled through random, multi-stage stratified methods using PPS (proportionate to population size), saw 3,430 registered voters polled.
