Eleven Heads of state will attend President Uhuru Kenyatta’s swearing-in ceremony scheduled on Tuesday, reports the Nation.
About 13 other countries will be sending their countries’s second –in- command, an envoy or a special minister.
Already, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed attendance with Times of Israeli indicating that he will be arriving in Nairobi on Tuesday morning.
Also to attend are Yoweri Museveni (Uganda), Ian Khama (Botswana), John Magufuli (Tanzania), Edgar Lungu (Zambia), Ismael Omar (Djibouti), Hage Geingob (Namibia), Faure Gnassingbe (Togo), Mohammed Farmajo (Somalia) and Ethiopia’s PM Desalegn Hailemariam.
Those that are expected to send second-in- command include Nigeria, China, Senagal, Burundi, Nigeria and Congo.
Recently, Financial Times of Britain claimed that Kenya was soliciting congratulatory messages from foreign countries due to political crisis in the country.
