As the battle for numbers towards the next general elections takes shape, the field has been characterised by political realignments.
Politicians have jumped ship from one party to another in an effort to steady their ships for a win.
However, this has not been an all-good affair as a number of parties have recorded loses.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has been among those largely affected.
Here are some four high-profile politicians who decamped from his Jubilee fold:
1. Former Cabinet ministers Sam Ongeri
2. Former Cabinet Minister Chirau Ali Mwakwere
3. Tharaka Nithi Governor Samuel Ragwa (expected to will join either CCM or PNU)
4. Narok West MP Patrick ole Ntutu
Speaking after Ole Ntutu joined his Chama Cha Mashinani, Bomet governor Isaac Ruto has predicted tough times for Jubilee especially in the Rift.
“Things are not going to be the same for Jubilee in the Rift Valley. We are expecting several MPs to defect to CCM. We also have candidates from all over, including South Nyanza, North Eastern and already we have several candidates in Nairobi including Lang’ata,” said Ruto.
