The ministry of education is set to roll out a Sh 32 million science project in secondary schools across the county but unfortunately, some schools will be excluded from the project.
According to a report published in one of the dailies, education cabinet secretary said that schools which were involved in cases of arson will not be included in the program that aims at promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics-STEM.
If the government takes their threat seriously, then these schools in Machakos county might miss out on the STEM-project.
These schools were caught up in the arson that swept across secondary schools between the months of June and July. Some of the schools include Mukowe secondary school, Masii high school, Matungulu secondary school, Kathiani boys' secondary school, Mitaaboni high school, Kathangani, Muindi Mbigu secondary school, Mbukuni secondary school and St Mark secondary school in Matuu.
In some of these schools, the cause of the fire is still not clearly known.
