A substantive number of NASA governors may after all boycott Raila Odinga's inauguration as people's president scheduled on Tuesday.
So far, only 14 counties have passed the People's Assembly bill of the possible 19 with some governors insisting they will not attend despite their respective assemblies passing the motion.
At Nyamira, Governor John Nyagarama will not attend the event even after indicating willingness to ferry supporters.
"He is not keen to attend the event for reasons that I will not reveal. His focus now remains working for the people," said a source who spoke in confidence.
Also keen to skip the event is Kisii Governor James Ongwae, who also conspicuously missed the Homa Bay rally on Saturday, despite previously attending such functions.
"Nyamira and Kisii governors wants to look moderate. They know Uhuru Kenyatta is the president and that is why they want to cooperate," says Gideon Mamboleo.
Both Kisii and Nyamira Counties are yet to pass the assembly bill despite having NASA numerical strength.
Others who are set to boycott include Granton Samboja (Taita Taveta), Josephat Nanok (Turkana) and Patrick Khaemba of Trans Nzoia, who have bee keen to work with Jubilee.
