The team will also be tasked with assessing the relationship with other political entities in NASA.

ODM’s move is also meant to help the party tighten loopholes that have seen members raise credibility issues in previous party nominations.

The team will be headed by lawyer Catherine Mumma alongside Prof Larry Gumbe, former Embakasi East MP Irshad Sumra, Alfelt Gunda and party lawyer, Tony Moturi.

the team has 90 days to carry out the exercise and report its findings and recommendations to the Party’s Election Committee.

“As you are aware, the National Governing Council of the Party met on February 23 and among the resolutions passed, was the establishment of a panel of eminent party members to conduct a comprehensive review of nomination and election rules, nomination structures, review of party ideology, electoral platforms and coalition building and management,” said the Party Secretary General, Edwin Sifuna in a statement.

Last year ODM suffered a huge blow when a number of candidates — who failed to clinch party tickets for the August 8 election – won as independent candidates.
