A number of political rejects in the August 8 general election have made it to President Uhuru Kenyatta's new cabinet in his second and final term in office. The full cabinet was unveiled by Uhuru on Friday, January 26, 2018 at State House Nairobi. Here are some politicians who have been appointed to various positions after being defeated in the August elections. 1. Former Nairobi Women Representative Rachel Shebesh is the Chief Administrative Secretary in the ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs.2. Former Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba will be CAS in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.3.Ex-Meru senator Peter Munya is the CS for East Africa Community. He lost the Meru Gubernatorial seat to Kiraitu Murungi.4. Former Turkana Senator John Munyes is now the CS for Petroleum and Mining.5. Ex-Marsabit Governor Ukur Yattani is the CS for Labour and Social Protection.6. Former kisii senator Chris Obure - CAS, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure development. 7. Former West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin - CAS, Ministry of Education.8. Ex-Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro is the CAS in the Ministry of Lands Cabinet Secretary. 9. Former kisumu central Ken obura has been appointed as CAS in the Ministry of East African Community and Northern Corridor Development.10. Ex-Tana River Governor - CAS, Ministry of Devolution and ASAL areas.
