A number of politicians formerly allied to opposition leader Raila Odinga performed dismally in the recently concluded elections.
Most of them ditched their sponsor party ODM for Jubilee and are on record for subjecting Odinga to serious scrutiny during election campaigns.
Notable among them is Ababu Namwamba, a former ODM Secretary General who lost his Budalang’i seat to Raphael Wanjala.
At the coast, Zainab Chidzugha of Kwale lost her seat to an ODM candidate while Joyce Lay of Taita Taveta lost her senatorial bid.
Jubilee point’s man in the coast Gideon Mungaro was floored in his bid to clinch governorship position which he lost to incumbent Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi. Dan Mwazo of Taita also lost.
Among those who survived strong ODM wave include Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, Sirisia MP John Walukhe and Aden Duale who was defending his seat amid strong opposition challenge.
