The Moi and Kenyatta families are among the notable ones. Here is a list of prominent Kenyan politicians who come from the same family.1. Raila Odinga, Oburu Odinga, and Ruth OdingaRaila Odinga and Oburu Odinga need no introduction in the political arena. The former Prime Minister has been in the political limelight for over two decades. He served in parliament at the same time with his father Jaramogi Oginga Odinga between 1992 and 1994. His elder brother Oburu Odinga who represents Kenya in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) has also been very influential in the field of politics. He served as MP for Bondo constituency from 1997 to 2013. The two are the brothers of former Kisumu deputy governor Ruth Odinga. The three are related to former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo who is their cousin.2. Uhuru Kenyatta and Beth MugoPresident Uhuru Kenyatta and Jubilee nominated Senator Beth Mugo are cousins. Mugo is also a member of the Public Service Commission (PSC).3. Gideon Moi and Raymond MoiThe Moi family has been very influential not only in the Rift Valley but in also other parts of the country, thanks to the KANU party. The election of Moi’s two sons Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Raymond proved that they are a force to reckon with. Gideon succeeded his father as the MP for Baringo Central before he contested for the Senate seat. His brother Raymond Moi is the MP for Rongai Constituency.4. Moses Wetangula and Timothy WanyonyiBungoma Senator Moses Wetangula is the brother of Timothy Wanyonyi who won the Westlands Parliamentary seat on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket. The two brothers have been very vocal on matters of national interest. Wanyonyi, who is the founder of the Kenya Paraplegic Organisation, is known for championing the rights of persons living with disabilities.5. Otieno Kajwang, Tom Joseph Kajwang and Moses KajwangRuaraka MP Tom Kajwang is the brother of the late Otieno Kajwang. Otieno served as Homa Boy Senator before his demise in 2014. He was succeeded by his brother Moses Kajwang. Tom recently hit the headlines after he led NASA in the controversial swearing in of Raila Odinga as the people’s president.
